On Tuesday the UFC broke out the news that Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson will meet in the Octagon for a rematch at UFC 210 in Buffalo, New York, on April 8.

The two heavyweights were supposed to pair up last month at UFC 206 in Toronto, but DC had to withdraw due to a groin injury.

Taking it back to May of 2015 Cormier defeated Johnson via submission of a rear-naked choke, 2 minutes 39 seconds into the 3rd round.

Following their first encounter Cormier (18-1) has fought twice, the first took place in October of 2015 against Alexander Gustafsson where he won via split decision, and he has not been in the Octagon since July 2016 when he faced Anderson Silva, and took the win by unanimous decision.

On the other hand, Johnson (22-5) has locked in 3 straight wins by knockout since his fight with DC. The first came against Jimi Manuwa at UFC 191 just 28 seconds into the 2nd round, the second was against Ryan Bader 1:26 into the 1st round at a UFC Fight Night event in January 2016, and the third was against Glover Teixeira at UFC 202 13 seconds into the very 1st round.
